A medium Harrier with long wing; 47-55 cm TL. Head and neck: Head, neck, mantle, and throat white with black streaks (male) or brown (female);lLighter streaks on throat; face black (male) and brown and white (female).

Body:
Back and wing mostly black (male) or brown (female) with white edges; Abdomen and undertail coverts white (male) or brown (female).

Limbs and tail: Legs and feet yellow; tail white (male) or greyish brown (female).
