Head and neck: Crown and nape iridescent green; eye dull purple; bill dark grey; throat white.

Body: Plump in appearance; upper back iridescent green gradually turning to purplish dark brown towards the back and rump; lesser wing coverts black with broad white tips forming a white patch; median wing coverts dark brown with black centers and white spots at tip; primaries dark brownish grey; breast white with a small hair-like orange spot in center; abdomen white.

Limbs and tail: Legs and feet pink to red; tail short; central tail feathers grey; outer tail feather light grey with subterminal black band.
