Head is small and rounded with a short snout;one pair of prefrontal scutes; four pairs of postorbital scutes; no preoccular scutes

Body:
Carapace - high domed and smooth, heart shaped; the nuchal scute does not touch the first costal scute; no overlapping scutes; four costal scutes on each side; 12 marginal scutes on each side, scalloped
Plastron - four inframarginal scutes on each sides are present between the plastron and marginal scutes;
greyis green in color and mottled with brown and black

Limbs and tail:
Single claw on each flipper (rarely two on some hatchlings)
