Resembles T. graeca but smaller. Head and neck: Head moderate; non-protruding snout; weakly hooked jaw; upper jaw tricuspid

Body
Carapace- greenish yellow to yellowish brown with dark seams; domed and rounded; highest behind the center; sides abruptly descending; short (less than 14 cm); vertebral scutes broader than long; center of vertebral and pleural scutes may be raised slightly; 10 to 12 marginals on each side; supracaudal scute undivided, flared to rear.

Plastron- well-developed; gulars thickened, usually do not extend beyond carapacial rim; plastron and bridge yellow; dark bloch on center of abdominal scute and along seams.


Limbs and tail: yellowish brown; anterior surface of forelegs with three rows of enlarged scales; no tubercles on thigh.
