Astrochelys radiata


Head and neck: head is moderate; non-protruding snout and slighly hooked upper jaw; top of the head dark brown to black; face, throat, and neck yellowish; prefrontal divided followed by a single large frontal scale.

Body:
Carapace - high domed and abruptly descending sides; vertebral scutes are broader than long; dark brown to black in color with 4 to 12 yellowish orange radiating lines; marginal with 1 to 5 radiating lines.

Plastron - yellow with a large black triangular marking on outer edge of humeral, pectoral, abdominal, and femoral; gulars thick, usually without patterns, and may protrude beyond the carapacial rim; anal scutes with black radiations.

Limbs and tail: Forelegs with overlapping scales; limbs and tail yellowish.
