Head and neck: Head is dark grey with reticulated pattern or spots; two barbels on chin.

Body
Carapace - oval with three prominent keels; brown with dark spots and radiating pattern at the base of each scute; marginals unserrated; the five vertebral scutes usually longer than broad.

Plastron - pale yellow, cross-shaped, small, and pointed posteriorly; movable hinge between pectoral and abdominal scutes.

Limbs and tail: Limbs grey or brown with small black spots; digits webbed; tail is short.
