Head and neck: dark brown to dark grey; narrow yellow stripes on snout, cheek and neck.

Body: Carapace - reddish-brown to greyish brown, oval, moderately domed, but not depressed; fourth and fifth vertebral scutes are broader than long.

Plastron: pale yellow with light grey blotch on each scute; no hinges; underside of marginal scutes with round spots; no notches on gular scultes; notch on anal scutes; whitish around seams.

Limbs and tail: Dark brown to black; tail moderate in length; base of tail with narrow yellow stripes.
