Head and neck: dark grey to black; head slightly distinct from neck; labials and throat cream; 1 preocular; 2 postoculars; 7 upper labials, 3rd and 4th in contact with eye; 8 lower labials; able to hood and lift anterior part of the body when threatened; some with V-shaped marking on nape.

Body: dorsal and ventral dark grey to black; midbody scale rows 19; ventrals 178 to 186; subcaudals 46 to 51.
