Head and neck: dorsal head predominantly black; nostril round, located 2.5 times closer to tip of snout than eye; black stripe behind the eye.

Body:
Dorsal - black, with 5 to 8 transverse rows of large yellow ocelli; midbody scale row 135;
Ventral - yellow, with dark bars crossbands that do not connect in the middle.

Limbs and tail: tail with broad black bands alternating with narrower yellow bands.
