Obliquely truncate prominent snout; head covered in small scales, either keeled or with small tubercles; 5-10 scales between the eyes (forehead)

Body:
Dorsum coloration is variable from light brown to black; some adults are dark colored with the abdomen being heavily spotted and blotched with black; dorsal with diamond-shaped patches; each with narrow dark brown band; snout to vent length = 79 cm
