Head and neck: Head and neck mostly featherless, bluish white to blue; hind neck and neck with black feathers (filoplumes); throat with a pair of wattles, bluish at base with red tips; bony triangular casque red at base, greyish brown tip; eye dark brown; bill brown to pale grey.

Body: Plump with short tail; overall dark grey with many white spots.

Limbs and tail: Legs and feet brown to grey; tail same color as body.
