Carapace - Leathery shell lacking scutes;streamlined body that tapers from the shoulders to the caudal tip; black with varying degrees of white speckling; speckling may be bluish or pink on neck and base of flippers; backside of shell is pointed; five dorsal ridges run the length of the carapace; two ridges form the margins Plastron- Relatively small, distensible with very little bone; predominately white with scattered dark blotches or spots
