Body:
Males are larger than females exceeding one meter in total length; 90-120 cm total length; color ranges from dark olive green to brown, with patches of yellow on the head and sides; males tend to have blue coloration in the dorsal side up to its sail; distinguishing character is the sail up to 7 cm high in lower back and base of tail

Limbs and tail:
Five toes in both forelimbs and hindlimbs; males have blue coloration on the ventral side of forelimb and hindlimb
