Head and neck: Head black, moderate; chin yellow to grey; jaw brown to black; non-protruding snout; upper jaw hooked; prefrontal and frontal large; may be divided or subdivided.

Body
Carapace- dark brown to black with yellow spot on the center of each scute; yellow bars on marginals; elongated; domed; highest behind the center; sides abruptly descending; cervical scute narrow with weak notch; vertebrals wider than long; centers (areolae) of vertebral and pleural scutes slightly raised, growth rings visible; 11 marginals on each side; one supracaudal undivided, flared.


Plastron- yellow with large triangular black blotches; well-developed; gulars thickened; may project slightly beyond carapacial rim; one axillary; one or two inguinal in contact with feomoral scute.
