Head and neck: Head yellowish brown; moderate; non-protruding snout; jaws dark; upper jaw hooked, tricuspid; large prefrontal divided; frontal large, undivided.

Body
Carapace- light brown to yellow brown; domed, rounded and flattened dorsally; about twice as long as high; as broad as long; highest point near the center; abruptly descending sides; cervical scute long and narrow, weak cervical notch;marginal scutes greatly flared posteriorly; vertebrals broader than long; centers of vertebral and pleural scutes slightly raised; growth rings (annuli) prominent; supracaudal scute undivided.

Plastron- lacks movable hinge between abdominal and femoral scutes; a pair of gulars thickened, extends slightly beyond carapacial rim; bridge yellow; plastron black with yellow seams.

Limbs and tail: four claws on each forefoot; each heel with spur-like scales.
