Black marsh turtle
Siebenrockiella crassicollis


Head and neck: Head is large and broad with short and slightly projecting snout; dark grey to black in color with faded white or yellow spot behind eye; neck is thick which makes the head appear shorter.

Body
Carapace - Uniform dark brown to black, oval; posterior margin serrated; median keel distinct; two lateral keels less pronounced; first four vertebral wider anteriorly; 5th broader posteriorly.

Plastron - anal scutes notched; dark brown to black in color; anterior and median seams may be pale yellow.

Limbs and tail: Limbs dark grey to black and covered with enlarged scales; toes webbed; tail short.
