Head and neck: Head broad, yellow to brown; dorsal and side of head dark brown with mottled markings; upper jaw hooked.

Body
Carapace - brownish orange, elongated, growth annuli visible; nuchal scute small, almost square; marginal scutes serrated posteriorly.

Plastron - light brownish orange; seams dark brown; unhinged; smaller than carapace (up to 93%); upturned anteriorly.

Limbs and tail: Limbs dark brown with 5 to 6 rows or enlarged scales; tail moderate.
