Batagur borneoensis


Head and neck: Head small to moderate, reddish brown; snout slightly upturned and pointed; upper jaw with a shallow median notch.
Body
Carapace - light brown to greenish grey, elongated and slightly domed; First to third and fifth vertebral scutes broader than long; fourth as long as broad; during breeding season, color changes occur on adult males; head and neck white; a broad red spot on top of the head; carapace light greenish grey with three black broad lines and black spots on marginals.

Plastron - pale yellow; shallow notch on anal scutes.

Limbs and tail: Limbs greyish or pale yellowish brown with enlarged transverse scales; five claws on forefeet; toes are webbed.
