Head and neck: brown to greenish grey; head slightly distinct from neck; head slightly distinct from neck 1 preocular; 3 postoculars; loreal absent; 7 upper labials, 3rd and 4th in contact with eye; 8 lower labials, 4th small inverted triangle; able to hood and lift anterior part of the body when threatened.


Body: dorsal brown to greenish grey; dark grey or black morph also exist; scales smooth; ventral cream; midbody scale rows 21 to 23; ventrals 177 to 191; subcaudals 39 to 49.
