Head and neck:
Head short and blunt, distinct from neck; large eyes; vertical pupils; top of head black with a few yellow spots; 1 preocular, with yellow spot; 2 postoculars; 8 upper labials, 3rd, 4th and 5th in contact with eye; 11 lower labials; labials yellow with black borders; loreal small, triangular.

Body:
Large, robust, and laterally compressed body; dorsal black with narrow transverse yellow crossbands, 1 or a little larger than 1 scale wide; ventrals 220-240; subcaudals 105-115
