Head and neck:
Head short and blunt, distinct from neck; large eyes; vertical pupils; top of head black; 1 preocular, with yellow spot; 2 postoculars; 8 upper labials, 3rd, 4th and 5th in contact with eye; 10 lowr labials; labials yellow with black borders; loreal small, triangular.

Body:
Large, robust, and laterally compressed body; dorsal black with transverse yellow crossbands, 2 to 6 scale wide; ventrals 210; subcaudals 98, divided; 96cm SVL.
