Head and neck:
Head is black with variable amount of white markings;
neck is black with bright bordered scales or small dots, chin pale yellow, with up to three dark bars; throat pale yellow with dark V-shaped marking or blotches (Negros, Panay, Cebu) or with one black crossband with yellowish skin between scales (Masbate, Ticao); 61 cm snout to vent length (SVL)

Body:
Dorsal - black, sometimes with four distinct or reduced transverse rows of spots, sometimes with dorsal stripe in the middle. Ventral - yellowish with black reticulated markings (Negros, Panay, Cebu) or yellowish with indistinctive dark bars or entirely black (Masbate, Ticao)
Limbs and tail: Tail is black, whitish mottled near the base and with distinct bright crossbands towards the tip.
