Head and neck:
Head is dark with one or two indistinct bright crossbands on the snout; neck is dark with bright scales or spots

Body:
Dorsal is dark, with or without four to six transverse rows of more or less distinctive larger spots; 115 to 145 scales around the midbody; abdomen is whitish, with 6 to 11 more or less distinct dark pointed bars or crossbands; 47 cm snout to vent length (SVL)

Limbs and tail:
Dark with bright spots; near the end with indistinct bright crossbands
