Head and neck: light brown to grey with dark markings; nostril slit-like, closer to snout than eye; dorsal of snout convex, especially on large males; ear opening elongated oval, oriented vertically.


Body: Dorsal - light brown to grey; 75 cm SVL; Ventral - white with dark crossbars and yellow spots; scales smooth; ventral scale row 75-120.

Limbs and tail: dark crossbars on tail become faint with age
