Smallest extant crocodilian. Head and neck: Head dark brown; snout upturned tip; neck relatively slender; post occipital usually two rows; nuchal 4 to 5 rows.


Body: dark brown to dark grey; dorsal longitudinal row 18; transverse row 6 to 10; ventral longtitudinal row 21 to 22; transverse row 16.

Limbs and tail: dark grey; tail with two rows of scutes.
