Head and neck: Forehead and hindcrown red; midcrown, broad line around eye to mantle (upper back) purplish blue; bill orange.

Body: Overall red; mantle and back purplish blue; breast with broad band blue; upper abdomen red; lower abdomen purplish blue; wing coverts and secondaries red with black tip; primaries black.

Limbs and tail: Legs and feet dark grey; thigh coverts purplish blue; undertail coverts red; tail purplish blue; under tail coverts red.
